Local beaches for sunbathing - all with restaurants, bars and equipment rental are Porto Do Mos, Praia de Luz and Maia Praia. Many other are within easy reach.

One of the most popular sports in the ‘off season’, there is an abundance of golf courses in the Western Algarve. In addition to the Boa Vista course which is definitely worth trying, my favourite is San Antonio.

The western Algarve coast is a national park area - and renowned globally as a surfing mecca. This beautifully preserved coast line boasts some of the World’s best surfing and bodyboarding beaches - the nearest being within 20 mins drive.

For the more Adrenalin fuelled, 20 mins drive gets you to Skydive Algarve. The unobstructed 360 degree view from 15,000ft is simply awesome.
